The other day, a photographer asked me a question about the challenge of creating great images in less-than-ideal conditions. And a lot of brides wonder about that too… and let’s face it, some parts of weddings are beautiful and perfect, with everything set perfectly, blue skies, spectacular florals and 72 degree temperatures. But sometimes, they’re not.

In this case, getting ready before Marie’s wedding, the problem was certainly NOT that everything wasn’t beautiful. Everyone was wonderful, the hotel was lovely, dresses, hair, makeup perfect. The challenge? Nine people in a fairly small hotel room as the bride got ready, with the main light in the room directly behind the bride. But I love these images! This one is my favorite.
