On Gratitude

It’s November! The month of my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. I know I talk a lot about the importance of gratitude in my life, so now I’d like to make everyone aware of a cool project called 30 Days of Gratitude. They post a topic every day and encourage people to post why they’re grateful for that thing. Yesterday’s topic was “where you live”.

Personally, I’m grateful for where I live in Atlanta for so many reasons. The city is beautiful. There are wonderful restaurants (and lots of discount programs like Groupon and restaurant.com and Scoutmob!). The weather is fabulous.

But mostly, I’m grateful for Atlanta because of the people it has brought into my life. People whose weddings and portraits I’ve shot who have become friends, people who I’ve met through wildlife rehab, people I work with in the wedding industry who are not only supportive and fun but who also produce such beautiful and creative designs that continue to amaze me on a weekly basis. And thanks, Atlanta, for bringing John and I together.  If I could send a city flowers, I would for that one.

And for all those people, I’m happy to announce a special promotion for portraits in November. It’s time for Christmas photos, and it is also time to celebrate Family Portrait Month with Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. For each one-hour portrait session you book in November, I’ll be donating a portion of your session fee to Operation Smile, and your session will include a free 8×10!

Celebrate your family by helping a child through Operation Smile!
