More today of the timelessly beautiful Catherine and Eric.
They decided to see each other before the wedding. Just before their “first look”, Eric was reviewing the toast with his Best Man. Love this moment.
Then we invited him in to see his bride. I love how the sight of Catherine just stopped Eric in his tracks.
On to the ceremony. Elegant, simple decor featuring these birch branches (these are birch, right?) adorned with candles and delicate florals to frame Catherine and Eric during the ceremony.
Catherine walked down the aisle with BOTH parents, which I loved.
And the ceremony? One of the shortest, greatest ceremonies I’ve ever seen. A great expression of Catherine and Eric as a couple… a ceremony built with engineer streamlining. Straight to everyone’s favorite part, the kiss!
And then MY favorite part… the moments after the ceremony, when we reached the top of the stairs and Catherine and Eric were alone to quietly enjoy and appreciate their first moments of married life.
On their wedding day, it was COLD in Atlanta. And windy. So while I would normally want to get everyone outside for photos of the outside of Wimbish House and around Peachtree, we had to stay inside. Oh, they tried. And without a single complaint! They were troupers, for sure. But after just a minute, I had to call it and we went back inside.
Luckily, Wimbish House is so pretty inside and the cold weather turned into the opportunity to shoot in some rooms I haven’t been in before. This is one of the reasons why I don’t go in to a day with a pre-defined idea of what I want to shoot … so I stay open to letting the day evolve naturally.
