Today I’m so happy to show you the adorable details from Abbi and Aaron’s wedding reception at The Chimneys at Big Canoe. Everything was so warm and welcoming and such a perfect reflection of their personalities. The lesson I found in this wedding is this: that you can set a relaxed, fun, casual tone for your reception while still creating an elegant environment.
Since the wedding was November 4, the theme was all things autumn: pumpkins, leaves, and warm colors. These escort cards are just amazing. I wanted to take the leaves off them and bring them home and do something crafty like a wreath or something. But I’m not so crafty, so they’re better off this way.
Pumpkins in many forms: candle holders, lights, and white pumpkins, which I don’t think I had ever seen before.
These adorable little tags were seen on the table numbers and on Abbi and Aaron’s chairs.
And the decor was beautifully planned so that every small area featured some visual interest.
What’s a better “guestbook” for an autumn wedding in the woods than this thumbprint leaf tree in autumn colors?
Outdoors, it was chilly at night but plenty of people still spent time outside under this fabulously lit tree.
I’d love to just bring twinkly lights everywhere with me as a background.
I have to say though that one of my favorite parts of this wedding was when Abbi went casual. They wanted everyone to just relax and have a great time at the party, and the tone was set for fun when Abbi changed into Uggs and a knit shawl. The theme of the reception: Bluegrass and Barbecue. Even though it’s over, you want to go to this wedding, don’t you?
