Oh. My. Gawd. You are gonna thank me for this post.
Last week I and my camera were able to be a part of the Sift! Taste Test on Wheels. And let me tell you, they’re not kidding when they sing that this is the most wonderful time of the year.
This time, Tristen treated us to SEVEN treats. Each one better than the next. I’ve never gotten into the holiday spirit so quickly before! Here are a few of the highlights:
First and foremost, let me introduce you to the “Tipper”. This is flippin’ genius. Pumpkin pie AND pecan pie all wrapped up into one.
One of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is the pie. I get to the end of my meal and here’s what I do:
1. Spend a while thinking about whether I should have pumpkin pie or pecan pie.
2. Definitely “both” is the answer. Yep.
3. Try to convince someone to split a piece of each with me.
4. Give up and have both.
5. Feel guilty and stuffed. But happy.
But this is BOTH pies in one! And so delicious. I could even replace the regular pumpkin pie must-have dollop (who am I kidding, just back up the truck) of whipped cream with just pure awesomesauce. Yep, just the straight pie, no added ingredients necessary. I consider it a personal favor to all of you for turning you on to this pie. Feel free to repay me with pie.
Another of my favorites was this sweetheart, called “Portia”. She’s a banana chocolate coconut cream pie. Once again, I don’t have to decide between banana and chocolate or coconut. The chocolate is so rich and smooth, and the banana so fresh and the coconut creme os so, uh, creamy. And the whole thing is not TOO sweet, like these pies can be. Not like any banana creme pie I’ve had before.
And the apple pie. I have to tell you about this one at a future date… it brought back such memories for me and literally brought me to tears. But here’s a sneak peek.
John’s favorite was the Cranberry Cardamom Cheesecake. I don’t think I even need words for it. Isn’t she pretty?
And the real surprise for me was the Boozy Banana bread. I’m telling you, I wasn’t really in the mood for banana bread. Look, I had an entire box filled with holiday flavors: pumpkin cake, eggnog cake, cheesecake, apple pie, pumpkin/pecan pie, and banana/chocolate/coconut pie. They were calling my name. LOUD. But I took a bite of this and all of a sudden half of it was gone. I don’t know what happened, it’s all a blur. I think it was the chocolate chips. They sent me into some sort of eating frenzy.
I want you to hear about the rest of this delicious goodness from Tristen at Sift! Please read her blog with the full descriptions, which is just about as entertaining as eating the desserts. And that, is saying a LOT.
