Taking the Leap (Day)

Merry Leap Day, everyone! I loved this week’s episode of 30 Rock, where Leap Day rose to epic, Christmas-like proportions. A magical day where people step out of their comfort zones to do new things (“Real life is for March”) and where a mythical creature exchanges candy for children’s tears. I’ve never been excited about Leap Day before, but this year I kind of am. Just like Mother’s day is a good reminder of appreciating our mothers, and Thanksgiving is a good reminder to practice gratitude, maybe we CAN make leap day a reminder that each day doesn’t have to be the same as every other day on the calendar.  So today, as I get ready to photograph a wedding (there’s one leap!) I’m going to share some of my favorite leap-quotes.

“When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth. So what the hell, leap.” – Cynthia Heimel

“I advise you to say your dream is possible and then overcome all inconveniences, ignore all the hassles and take a running leap through the hoop, even if it is in flames.” – Les Brown
