I’ve been waiting so long to show you Nancy and David’s utterly gorgeous wedding at Piedmont Driving Club. Their wedding was featured in Occasions Winter 2014, but there’s so much more to show you. I am full on in love with their yellow and grey color palette and all the cool details, many of which Nancy created herself.
Fun fact about the Piedmont Driving Club: It has long been one of the most prestigious private clubs in the south, but it is also the origin of Piedmont Park! It started in 1887, named because the members would drive (or race) their horse & carriages on the club grounds. But in 1904 the club sold those grounds to the city of Atlanta to create Piedmont Park.
I guess the best place to start is with Nancy and David getting ready. I tell you, I still get a little thrill every time I look at Nancy’s superfabulous grey plaid wedding shoes. LOVE!
Nancy was so cool and calm as she got ready. I love that.
Nancy and David did a first look. I always love this private moment between a bride and a groom. It’s one of the best times for them to just enjoy each other and take in what the day is all about.
Okay, I have to just gush over this color scheme again. The bright yellow against the grey is just so fresh and lovely. And a shout out to Emily Hoffman-Smalling of Stella Harper Events and Bloomin Bouquets, who did these gorgeous florals.
I loved this moment as we were shooting the portraits… a little practice walking down the aisle. The ring bearer wanted to try walking with flowers too!
Nancy and David are just so adorable. And Nancy’s makeup was flawlessly done by Andrea Carter.
