I love October weddings. Atlanta starts to cool down a bit, and the days are still warm but the nights are cool. Perfect for weddings. Tricia and Jason got married in October at the Piedmont Garden Tent, and their wedding was a lovely mix of modern and rustic touches.
I love the setting of the lawn at the garden tent. Under an amazing willow, with a view of the park, view of the city. It’s so Atlanta.
Tricia and Jason decided to do a first look.
I love the grey dresses and details with the pops of purple!
Instead of printed programs, they did a chalkboard program. Love this idea! And another thing I love: they had an unplugged wedding. I so wish for guests to be engaged in the moment rather than be taking photos. I know how being behind a camera (even a camera phone) removes you from being fully in the moment, and a wedding is the participate fully, as the couple say their vows and begin their married life.
Such sweet modern yet rustic details.
The ceremony was so intimate and special. And they did something I’ve never seen before. When it was time for the ring exchange, each family member held the rings and said a prayer. When the rings had made the full circle of family, they placed them on each other’s fingers.
And after the ceremony, we did a few more photos as the sun got low in the sky.
