Ivy + Marcus | Atlanta Wedding at LeBam
This time of year I spend a lot of time looking at the past year’s photos. You saw my 2015 recap last week, but in addition I look at lots of things to update galleries, advertising, and other materials. And I realize what I haven’t posted yet! So many of my couples in the last year have taken time to give their own perspective and advice to help other brides. So I’m starting this year with my first wedding of LAST year, Ivy and Marcus. They got married New Year’s Day at LeBam, and the event was so lovely and unique! Here are some of Ivy’s words, along with some highlights of their day from me.
They got ready at their beautiful place at the Loews. Such gorgeous views!
Hair and makeup was done by Mimi J, so of course Ivy looked flawless.
The guys were looking pretty suave too.
What did you love (or hate) about wedding planning? What made it easier?
I loved bringing all the elements together to create an intimate ambience. It was important to us that each guest enjoyed every moment of the celebration.
Were there any special moments during the day that you weren’t expecting?
” My husband had a beautiful flower arrangement and my favorite champagne delivered to our condo, and a bottle waiting on us at the venue. “
Did you have any wedding day nerves? What did you do to tame them?
Not until it was time to walk down the aisle. I prayed with my father–Just remember to breathe.
What is your best advice for a bride? Or for a groom?
“Enjoy every moment & don’t forget to dance with your bride/groom. “
What was your favorite moment of the day?
My son’s toast! And seeing my groom–we hadn’t seen each other for a week
What advice would you give to newly married couples?
Love each other wholeheartedly and unconditionally!
8. Is there anything about the wedding day you would have done differently?
I would have hand-picked a day of coordinator instead of using the one offered by the venue. Our guests were unaware, but we noticed the mistakes and delays.
Thanks so much, Ivy for giving your perspective!
