“2017 was the year everything really changed for me!” That’s what I want to be saying when I reflect on this year. Not that I don’t already love my life, my business, my home, but I know there’s MORE in store for me. I keep seeing people choosing their 2017 word of the year, and that seems like a great idea to me. A single word that I can use to create focus during the year. A word to guide my goals and actions. A word to help me kick things up a notch.
I thought a lot about it, and the word I chose was ELEVATE.
I chose elevate because it applies to a lot of things I want to do with my life right now.
Elevate my art. I want to do better work this year than I’ve ever done before. I’m eager to try some new techniques and projects that will grow my creativity and skills and explore photography in new and exciting ways.
Elevate my business. I want to improve my business processes, become more efficient, and grow my brand to take my business to a new level of success.
Elevate those around me. I think a lot of the measure of our lives are how we make others feel. I want to have a positive impact on the people I come in contact with, helping people to feel strong, beautiful, skilled, cared for, and admired.
Elevate my health. It’s so easy for me to focus on the day to day things in life and neglect my own well being. This year I plan to be healthier and more fit than ever, and take care of my body with good nutrition, enjoy my workouts, and take care of my body to keep it healthy and strong.
Elevate my confidence. I’m generally so much more accepting, loving and caring to others than I am to myself. I would NEVER say things to other people that I tell myself! So I want to focus on being nice to myself, too.
