I love theater people. I grew up around and in the theater. From the time I was tiny I’d go to shows and dream of being on stage. It was a big part of my life, both watching and performing. So Joanna + Matt’s wedding has a special place in my heart. Since the theater was a big part of their courtship, what better place for them to get married than where they both performed on stage, at the Town & Gown Theater in Athens, GA.
I wish all brides were able to get ready in a dressing room with mirrors lit like the one at Town & Gown.
Oh, and I’m loving Joanna’s shoes!
For their first look, we did a dramatic reveal of Joanna from behind the curtain. And Matt’s expression when he saw her brought a tear to my eye.
We did a few more shots with the couple and the wedding party in the theater.
I loved the fact that the walls of the theater still hold posters from some of the productions Joanna & Matt were a part of.
And then we went outside, where it was a gorgeous day! The ceremony area was beautifully adorned with soft florals, and 1000 paper cranes, which hung from the trees along the pathway.
And can I just take a moment to say how spectacular Joanna’s dress was?
A few shots from the ceremony…
I’ll be back soon with photos from their reception!
