Guess what? Dominique & Nicholas’ wedding was just featured on Zola! I’m so happy to finally show you their wedding, but FIRST, I’m going to start with their engagement photos in Centennial Park. We went there for the Sky View ferris wheel.
Here are Dom’s words about how they met:
Nick and I met at a mutual friend’s “Kickback”/Apartment Warming event. I was there with my friends, who he apparently already knew, so he came over to say Hi to them. He the introduced himself to me, and we had a very nerdy conversation about school and our career paths. We exchanged numbers before the night was over. He texted me the next day to make sure I made it in safely, and to suggest that we hang out some time. He likes to say that I was playing hard to get because I did not respond right away, but I was really just doing some background research and asking his friends about him before I agreed to go out with him. I finally replied, and shortly after we went on our first date to the movies to see Taken 2.
And here is their engagement story:
Nick and I dated for four years, and those years were filled with graduations, new jobs, and long distance, and many other major life transitions. In 2016, I had finally accomplished my goal of getting accepted into medical school and Morehouse School of Medicine. On September 16, 2016 , we had our White Coat Ceremony, which was an opportunity for my family and friends to see me get my first white coat, as a symbol of being entering the world of medicine and studying to become a Physician. It was a very important day for me, so I was focused on making sure all plans were in order for the day. Little did I know, Nick had other plans up his sleeve to make this day even great than I could have imagined. Right after the ceremony, my friends and I walked outside to find a good spot for photos. They suggested the amphitheater on campus, and I figured that was a good idea. When I arrived there, the seats were filled with family and friends, some that had flown in from Philadelphia to Atlanta without me knowing. Before I knew it, Nick was on one knee asking me to marry him, and he had an amazing photographer there to capture it all! I was so shocked but so incredible excited, it was absolutely perfect!
