It’s no secret that one of my favorite things about weddings is how they are a unique representation of the bride and groom. And what makes that even more special is when a couple brings in their family and cultural traditions and blend them with their own style and personality to create something wonderful. That’s what Amanda and Aaditya did for their wedding weekend in Little Rock, Arkansas. Over three days, they had a Christian ceremony and reception, then an Indian Mehndi celebration and Indian ceremony. It’s going to take me a couple blog posts to show you everything, so buckle up for a fun trip through this one! I’m starting with the Christian wedding ceremony on the first day.
Before the Wedding
We arrived at the Clinton Library a little early (not a surprise, since I’m almost always early). I normally go around the venue looking at backgrounds and light and planning my shots, but this time was extra fun because in the process of doing that I got to check out the Oval office and other artifacts. FUN! I have to say though, that the dressing room for the bride is SO beautifully lit, that after Amanda got dressed I HAD to do some portraits in there.
They decided to do a first look, which I love. It was rainy outside but luckily the venue has this big gorgeous atrium filled with beautiful light. And from there we made our way around the library.
The florals were absolutely lovely. There’s so much more color coming in the Indian ceremonies, but this gives a little hint of what’s to come.
I also really loved the invitations!
The Christian Ceremony
The first ceremony was a traditional Christian ceremony. I loved how seriously the ring bearer took his job!
They had the ceremony just after sunset, so the sky outside was this awesome deep blue!
I’ve never seen a seating chart quite like this. I love how modern and stylish it is! And it’s a perfect match for the architectural lines in the venue.
LOL, the toasts are always fun, but when the groom’s brother got up to speak, well, this image just says it all.
And then it was time to cut loose!
I’ll be back to show you so much more! Get ready for the Indian ceremony!
