Hey hey hey! I’m back with more good stuff from Amanda + Aaditya’s wedding in Little Rock, Arkansas! Today I’m bringing you the Indian wedding ceremony and Mendhi. And I’m so excited because I love all the color, all the tradition, all the meaningful parts of this wedding, and especially all the JOY!

The Blessings

Let’s start with Saturday morning, where we gathered at a family home for prayers.

Mehndi

Meanwhile, the ladies gathered back at the hotel for the Mehndi party. I will never get tired of watching this. The designs are so intricate and beautiful and seeing it done is always fun for me.

The Sangeet

The Sangeet is so much fun! On Saturday evening everyone gathered for a night of singing and dancing together, featuring performances by family and friends.

And I LOVED how they did the seating chart for this event! It was part seating chart, part photo backdrop.

After a fantastic dinner, the performances started. Everyone had so much fun showing off their talents!

And the performances were capped off with a dance by the bride and groom, before everyone joined them on the dance floor.

Barat

Next up, the Barat. On Sunday morning everyone gathered outside the hotel for the procession of the groom toward the wedding ceremony. In this modern version, instead of a horse, Aaditya arrived through the sunroof of the car.

The Barat led all the way up to the ceremony, where we stopped outside the ceremony room for blessings from the parents and family.

The Hindu Wedding Ceremony

As the group gathered outside, the beautiful Mandap awaited us, adorned with beautiful florals for the Indian ceremony.

And once everyone was in place, the bride made her entrance.

And we finished with group photos of the bride and groom and their family and friends.

Bride and Groom Portraits

After the ceremony we had some time to take some portraits around the hotel. Every detail of the bride and groom was perfect!
