Congratulations, you’re engaged! What an exciting time this is and we want to help you capture these precious memories. At Janet Howard Studio, we are so passionate about capturing unique engagement photos that as part of our wedding package we offer a FREE Engagement Session.
This is your opportunity to get some professional shots of you as couple that can be used for your engagement announcement, save the dates, and so much more. We are here to give you some creative ideas on what makes for an amazing engagement session. But we always love new ideas, so in the comments below let us know some of your ideas of creative ways for an engagement photo session.
1. Get Out in Nature
In my opinion engagement photos in nature can never go wrong. Whether it’s a beautiful sunny day or an overcast one, give me some trees, a park and add in a little architectural interest and you’ve got yourself some magical settings. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall all can make some beautiful nature shots. But here in Atlanta we have to watch out for the hot summer, so during this season it’s best to do your session in the morning.
2. Meaningful Landmarks/Your Favorite Hangout Spot
One of my favorite types of shoots is to capture the couple in places that are meaningful to them. It can be the place where you met, like to spend time at or even where he proposed.
3. Include Your Pet
Got a furry family member? Include your pet in your engagement photo shoot. They’re so great for making you relaxed during a photo shoot and end up being such fun photos and memories to keep. Also these photos make for some adorable save the dates.
4. Doing Your Favorite Activity
Like places, there’s usually an activity that the couple loves to do together. Why not capture these memories on camera? Whether it’s something like fishing, eating delicious King of Pops or sporting your favorite team’s tshirt.
5. Urban Style
There are some cool places in your city. Got a great mural in town? Do you know some hidden spots such as under a bridge, a tunnel or train tracks? These spots make a great background for your photo session, and being able to capture landmarks in your neighborhood make for great reminiscing when you view the photos in the future.
